Hello Freda…

So essentially there are 2 main ways to add video to the new site…

The 1st would require you edit and compress the video on your own end and then use a WP plug-in to add the video to the site…essentially hosting the video directly on the AA site.

There are a variety of plug-ins available, most I’ve seen require some type of one time license fee to use for commercial sites.

Here is an quick example using the “JW Player” so you can how it would look/work within this site:

[jwplayer mediaid=”904″]

The 2nd direction would require you to use a third party service to essentially “host” the video material and then embed them into this site as needed. The most notable service for this would be YouTube, but this is also how the BubbleComment service works too.

One important note about most third party services though, once you pass your video to companies such as YouTube you loose control of your content…They can show it all over the place and it will show in different searches…Basically, you lose control of who views your video or what happens to your video (this would not be the case with BC).

Basically I think this 2nd method is probably the best way to go for you/AA, because it would not require you/AA to edit or compress the video yourself…Which does require some expertise as well as the correct compression software to get right and working with video can be quite time consuming.

In speaking with you about video options a few weeks ago, I got the sense that you weren’t interested in the idea of embedding the usual YouTube video player(s) directly into site…As in the example above…which is how most third party video services work.

So here are 2 basic examples of you could use BubbleComment to play the videos only when viewers click on a anchor tag:

NOTE! – THE SCRIPT FOR THESE EXAMPLES HAS BEEN TURNED OFF FOR NOW – SO THESE LINKS WILL NOT WORK – PLEASE CONTACT KEVIN TO TURN BACK ON.

[2] You can also add the video trigger to any image:

Go this route might be a good fit if you want to “hot-link” certain photos around the site… which could be a nice way to provide a personal “hello” message for all people on the “Management Team” and “Estimators” pages.

For the examples above, I just did a quick styling by adding the AA logo as well as changing the border color…but you have other options as well which I would be happy to go over with you in more detail at a later time.
